2016 BMW 7 Series Review, Specs, Images

BMW is proudly announced its new flagship sedan, we came to the
first spy photos from testing 2016 BMW 7 series facelift, and
the specifications details.

New BMW 7 Series Exterior

Although there some brand new elements are present, the
exterior still looks familiar. The 7 Series exterior design
innovations include production light units, the exhaust tip
design and the Hofmeister kink.

The vehicle has received a new modular platform dubbed 35 up.
It will feature a myriad of new technologies including carbon
fiber construction for some elements and this should make BMW
keep weight down.

2016 BMW 7 Series sports a larger double-kidney grille,
accompanied by headlamps based on the ones of the fresher BMWs
such as 3 Series and the X5 SUVs. As seen in the photos, the
headlamps will be using laser technology.

At the rear, BMW borrowed some stuff from the Vision Future
Luxury Concept that includes the sculpted bumper, the exhaust
outlets and the tail lamps extending into the trunklid. The
profile remains pretty much the same, following BMW’s classic
character line and the beefy fenders.

BMW 7 Series 2016 Interior

The interior of 2016 BMW 7 Series facelift will be dominated by
leather and wood trim, and it will be even more luxurious than
the previous version, the current model.

The center stack and console have undergone minimal changes,
but the dashboard uses more aluminum than it used to.

Technology-wise, the vehicle will receive the new infotainment
screen and the new button look. Several changes are also
noticeable around the door panel and instrument cluster. The
steering wheel is only a small modification, featuring split
bottom spoke.

The customers can expect plenty of traffic warning systems and
convenience features such as automatic parking and autonomous
driving capability, but also the latest in connectivity. The
vehicle should be offering full WiFi capability, downloadable
applications, 3D maps with real-time traffic and weather
updates.

The optional panoramic sunroof and the new iDrive system with
gesture recognition will make the 7 Series even more
attractive.

Engine and performance

2016 BMW 7 Series will have several powertrain options: 6-
(3.0-liter), 8- (4.4-liter) and 12-cylinder (6.0-liter)
engines, updated with direct-injection and turbocharging
technologies. The 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine is expected to
deliver around 300 up to 400 hp.

Rumor has it that BMW is also considering a 2.0-liter
4-cylinder engine, which could bring back impressive fuel
economy numbers.

A plug-in hybrid drivetrain is also being considered, but specs
still remain unknown. It’s actually very likely that this
version won’t be launched until next year.

2016 BMW 7 Series Price and release

summer next year. The base price for the current model may be
around $75,000, climbing up to $90,000.
