2016 Chevrolet Trax Exterior

2016 Chevrolet Trax is small SUV or Compact SUV and has
maintained most of the predecessor model looks. The Chevy is
offered in 3 trim levels which are LS which is the base, LT and
LTZ.

The automaker has really economized features on the base trim
and has withdrawn some of the previous features such as the
chrome beltline strip and roof rails. Absence of the roof rails
gives the vehicle a clean appearance. However, higher trims
feature roof rails as standard. Further, the base model also
features body color license plate housing, mirrors and other
trim pieces which underscore the budget nature of the small
car.

Other features on the base model are automatic on/off halogen
headlights (higher trims feature LED headlights and taillights)
and intermittent rear-window wiper. It also comes with a spare
tire. The LT and LTZ feature heated exterior mirrors. The LS
will rides on 16-inch steel wheels  with silver plastic
wheel covers while the LT features 16-inch alloy wheels. The
top LTZ trim rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

Engine Specs and Performance

The 2016 Chevrolet Trax is offered in only one drive-train. The
unit is an Ecotec 1.4 L, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The
engine produces 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. It is paired
with a 6-speeed automatic transmission system.

Front-wheel-drive comes as standard in all models but all trim
levels have an option for the all-wheel-drive mode at an extra
cost. Credit must go to the Chevy engineers who have managed to
produce maximum torque from this engine at only 1,850 rpm.

According to the automaker, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph
in 9.4 seconds for FWD models and 9.7 seconds for AWD models.
This might seem slow but it is actually at par with other
compact and subcompact automobiles. In terms of fuel economy,
the engine is EPA rated at 26 mpg for city, 34 mpg on highway
and 29 mpg with FWD models and 24 mpg, 31 mpg and 27 mpg with
