2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Review

The 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will most certainly be a
quite intriguing car, due to a much higher performance than any
other muscle car at the moment. The previous edition of this
vehicle is the first Hellcat ever built. However, with this
upcoming edition, there is going to be a small facelift of the
vehicle.

2016 Dodge Challenger Exterior

Exterior-wise, some minor esthetic updates can be expected. The
overall body design has been inspired by the 1971 version. The
anticipated changes may refer to the grille, which can become
split in the middle for example, or dual front air extractors,
large splitter which at the same time presses the Hellcat to
the ground and makes it look as if it is floating.

The front of the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will get a
new bumper with a pair of LED fog lights which will be
integrated into the pillars of the splitter. According to
Dodge, this will give the vehicle “snake” effect.

Dodge Challenger 2016 Interior

Not many enhancements are expected to be seen in hi-tech
functions of the 2016 Challenger Hellcat, therefore it will
probably come with 7” touch display infotainment system.

As for the interior design , the cabin will receive a small
improvement in material quality. The older one used hard
plastic on the dashboard, but this one is going to use soft
touch plastic, leather and a top-of-the-class aluminum. Some
enthusiasts hope for a mix of Nappa and Alcantra natural
leather upholstery of seats, steering wheel and gear shifter
with French-seamed scent stitching.

The design on the other hand is going to remain unchanged.

Engine and performance

Under the hood, the 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat will retain
the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that the previous model
used. It delivers 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
But these are just the official numbers. In some cases, the
tested vehicles put out even 740 horsepower or more at the
crankshaft, which hardly ever happens nowadays. As for the top
speed, it should get to about 204 mph.

The vehicle should be able to develop acceleration of 0-60 mph
in 3.3 seconds with an 8-speed automatic transmission, thanks
to new gearbox software.

Price and release date

It is hard to presume the price of 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT
Hellcat, but rumor has it that it will be $46,000 and $60,990
with the sport racing sequence.

The car should be released in January next year, but the date
could alter.
