2016 Range Rover Evoque Review, Specs

2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will be available in the
following trims: SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic, and Autobiography. A
convertible Evoque is also being worked on.


Exterior-wise, the vehicle has undergone some pretty big
changes. It has received a new front bumper installed with a
pair of larger, aggressive air intakes; slim, integrated LED
fog lights followed by two freshly designed grilles.

The base model of 2016 Range Rover Evoque has two horizontal
bars and a fine mesh pattern, whereas the Dynamic model gets a
hexagonal pattern. As for the turn indicators, they now
completely belong to the LED running lamps. Speaking of the
LED, the Evoque now comes with full-LED adaptive headlamps.

5-door HSE Dynamic and Autobiography have received the hood
vents that could previously be only found in the 3-door models.

There is also a new tailgate spoiler with a wider LED third
brake light and the hatch with “Gesture Tailgate”. Finally, the
customers can choose from among three new wheel designs in two

As for the Evoque 2016 interior, it includes new seats,
doorsills and premium soft-touch materials. Standard models
come with 8-way power-adjustable seats, while the Dynamic and
Autobiography go all the way up to 14-way seats with optional

Apart from the 11 existing colors, the vehicle will also be
available in two new optional ones – Lunar Ice and Vintage Tan.

The greatest innovation of all is the arrival of Land Rover’s
InControl Touch infotainment system. The system features
user-friendly menus, allows its users to swipe between screens
just like on smartphones and lets them access several
phone-based apps by using the center-console touch screen via
InControl Apps functionality.

InControl Touch Plus includes (standard on HSE and above)
bundling nav, rear-seat entertainment with a pair of 8” screens
and wireless headphones, and an 11- or 17-speaker stereo.


Engine specs and performance

This year’s Range Rover Evoque will be powered by a 2.0-liter
turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 9-speed
automatic. It will deliver 240 hp and 250 pound-feet of torque.
It should be able to accelerate 0-60 mph in 7.6 seconds and
reach maximum speed of 135 mph (217 km/h).

The new Range Rover Evoque will also have diesel engines
available in two power levels: with 150 PS and 180PS. Less
powerful engine offers lower fuel consumption of 68 mpg (4.2 l
/ 100 km), while stronger unit offers 59 mpg (4.8 l / 100 km).



Price and release date

Land Rover has released the Evoque at the 2015 Geneva Auto
Show. Although no specific date was given, the company states
that the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will go on sale
this fall. Pricing remains unknown for now, but the base model
is expected not to go higher than $42,600.
