2016 Volvo S80 Review

Volvo is a manufacturer of high-quality family cars with
advanced safety systems and fuel-efficient engines, now is the
time for the new 2016 S80 sedan. Details about the new
2016 Volvo S80 includes the redesign, Price, Pictures,
Interior, release date and other factors that are important
when looking for a new car.

Exterior of Volvo S80 2016

Exterior-wise, the 2016 Volvo S80’s front and rear bumpers have
received a “stretch” effect, making the vehicle look lower and
wider.

The rectangular Daytime Running Lights at the front part give
it a modern and trendy look, whereas the traditional Volvo rear
lights visually keep the car “grounded”. The S80 is equipped
with 19” wheels with no loss of comfort. But it will also
include new wheels – 17”, 18” and 19”.

The customers will be offered the choice between three chassis
types – Comfort, Lowered Sport Chassis and Four-C (Continuously
Controlled Chassis Concept).

2016 Volvo S80 Interior

The new Volvo S80 interior has been enhanced with plenty of
details, such as jewelry knobs, giving it the more
sophisticated look.

The cabin now has the seats upholstered with soft leather,
leather instrument panel, soft leather central arm rest, as
well as head rests covered in soft leather. The logo has been
inscripted on the floor mats and tread plates.

The infotainment system has been considerably updated. The
Adaptive Digital Display uses an active TFT crystal display to
bring the driver personalized information. There are three
themes to choose from: Elegance, Eco and Performance. Also
available are the cloud-based services which allow the driver
to find and pay for parking without leaving the vehicle,
discover new restaurants, effortlessly stream music, and much
more. The Bluetooth mobile phone service gives a driver the
possibility to have hands-free phone conversations.

Maybe the mostly appreciated feature is the Sensus offer, Volvo
On Call, which allows Volvo drivers to communicate directly
with their car through a smartphone application to lock,
unlock, check fuel levels, pre-heat, pre-cool, locate and check
mileage.

The Sensus family also provides Premium Sound system with a
5x130W amplifier with the latest sound enhancement software
Dirac Live and up to 12 loudspeakers, along with a long-throw
woofer for enhanced bass, soft dome tweeters for soft highs and
large mid-range center and door speakers.

IntelliSafe, the name under which Volvo comprises all active
safety systems, is an essential element of the driver-centric
approach in the S80.

Engine and Specs

Under the hood, the 2016 Volvo S80 will have one of two
4-cylinder engines from the Drive-E engine family: the turbo
diesel D4 or the petrol turbo T5.

The T5 engine delivers 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

The D4 engine puts out 181 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
This one features world-first i-ART technology that improves
reduction of fuel consumption. With pressure feedback from each
fuel injector, i-ART allows continuous monitoring and adapting
of fuel injection per combustion in each of the cylinders. Fuel
consumption with D4 mated to manual gearbox is reduced to 3.9
l/100 km (60 mpg). Fuel consumption with the 8-speed automatic
is 4,3 l/100 km (54.7 mpg).
